The i5 Long Wheelbase (LWB) has been introduced by BMW India at ₹79.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Production of the electric sedan will take place at BMW Group’s Chennai facility, making it the first locally manufactured electric sedan from the company in India. Deliveries have begun.
Both variants are priced at ₹79.60 lakh. These include the i5 eDrive35L M Sport and the limited First Edition. BMW has confirmed that the 99 units allocated for the First Edition were sold ahead of the launch.
The sedan gets a 3,105mm wheelbase and measures 5,175mm long, 2,156mm wide and 1,520mm high. The longer wheelbase has been adopted to increase space for rear passengers and cater to chauffeur-driven use.
