Dubai: Israel has reportedly rejected the ceasefire conditions proposed by Hamas. It’s been stated that Israel conveyed to the mediators its refusal to halt the assault, withdraw its forces from Gaza, and allow the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza unless specific conditions are met.
Following the Paris and Cairo negotiations, the ongoing ceasefire talks in Doha have also been labeled as a complete failure.
Hamas’s primary demands included a complete cessation of hostilities, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and the repatriation of displaced Palestinians. Israel has communicated to the mediators its rejection of the first two demands and indicated that the return of Palestinians would be contingent on certain conditions.
While the situation in Gaza remains highly complex, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has urged world nations not to delay in achieving an immediate ceasefire. He also cautioned that failing to deliver uninterrupted aid to Gaza could escalate into a major humanitarian crisis.
Yesterday, Israeli forces carried out an attack on thousands of people waiting for food in Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of 19 individuals and over 70 injuries. The Israeli leadership also reiterated its stance on continuing the assault on Rafah without backing down.
