Chennai: The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has unveiled its manifesto ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin released the manifesto on Wednesday, pledging to grant the chief minister the authority to appoint the governor, advocate for statehood for Puducherry, call for a ban on NEET exams, among other promises. The manifesto was crafted by Kanimozhi.
The party’s stance on several contentious national issues has been made clear, including commitments to revoke the Citizenship Amendment Act, repeal Article 361 of the Constitution granting powers to Governors, enforce 33% reservation for women, amend the Indian Constitution to grant more federal rights to states, rescind the National Education Policy (NEP), and eliminate toll gates.
M.K. Stalin emphasized that the development projects modeled on the Dravidian principles, which have been successful in Tamil Nadu, will be extended nationwide for the state’s progress. He affirmed that the manifesto’s pledges will be fulfilled.
Furthermore, the manifesto outlines plans to introduce a breakfast scheme for school children, provide Rs 1000 monthly to women across the country, waive education loans, and establish new IITs, IIMs, and IISCs.
