Reports suggest continuing changes within Iran’s leadership dynamics amid ongoing conflict with the United States. According to a report, authority appears to be shifting away from Iran’s Supreme Leader toward the military establishment.
This change is linked to reports that Mojtaba Khamenei, who assumed leadership after the death of his father Ali Khamenei, has undergone multiple major surgeries affecting his face and limbs, limiting his ability to oversee government affairs. He has reportedly not appeared in public since his appointment in March.
In his absence, senior commanders from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are said to have taken on a more influential role, shaping Iran’s security policies, military decisions, and foreign relations.
Observers of Iran’s political system describe the current arrangement as more collective in nature, with key decisions being made by a group of senior military and political figures rather than a single dominant leader.
