Kerala: In response to the controversy sparked by her social media post about marriage, actress Bhama clarified her statements on Friday. In another social media post, Bhama explained that she never said women shouldn’t marry, but that her post was against the practice of dowry. She emphasized that women should never marry by giving dowry, highlighting the consequences of such actions. Bhama further explained that she was referring to the fear and life-threatening situations a woman might face in a household where dowry is involved.
In the earlier post, she wrote, “Do we women need marriage? No. No woman should marry by giving her wealth to anyone. What if they leave you?…”
The post created confusion among the public, with many believing that Bhama was speaking against the institution of marriage.
Bhama married in 2020. Recently, she revealed on social media that she is now a single mother. She shared a picture of her daughter Gauri, expressing that she has become stronger as a single mother.
