India Welcomes US Move to List LeT Proxy TRF as Global Terrorist Group

India has applauded the United States for officially recognizing TRF, a Lashkar-e-Toiba proxy, as a global terrorist group. On Friday, India expressed support for the US decision to classify The Resistance Front (TRF), affiliated with LeT and linked to the Pahalgam attack, as an international terrorist organization. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar referred to the US action against TRF as a clear endorsement of the robust counter-terrorism partnership between India and the United States.

Marco Rubio for identifying TRF, linked to the Pakistan-based LeT, as a terrorist entity.

“Appreciate @SecRubio and @StateDept for designating TRF – a Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) proxy – as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT). It claimed responsibility for the April 22 Pahalgam attack,” the external affairs minister said.

The US State Department earlier announced the inclusion of TRF in its list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists. The department also pointed out that TRF had taken responsibility for the Pahalgam attack, which led to the deaths of 26 civilians.
