New Delhi: The farmers paused their protest march towards Delhi on Sunday as they are interested in learning about the government’s new plan regarding the prices they receive for their crops.

If their concerns are not addressed, the farmers may resume their march towards Delhi on February 21st.

Union ministers had discussions with the farmers regarding the issues they raised. The protesting farmers, primarily from the states of Punjab and Haryana, have been staying at the borders of Delhi since February 13th.

The farmers desire assurance from the government that they will receive a fair price for the crops they produce.

After the discussions, Piyush Goyal, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, stated that the government proposed the idea of certain groups, supported by the government, purchasing specific crops from farmers at fair prices for a period of five years.
