Kenya: A massive gas explosion occurred in Nairobi, Kenya, resulting in the tragic death of at least three individuals and injuries to nearly 300. The incident unfolded in the Embakasi district when a gas-laden lorry exploded, creating a massive fireball.
The explosion caused significant damage to residences, businesses, and vehicles, with video footage capturing a large blaze near apartment buildings. The affected area has been sealed off, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blast.
Reports suggest that one person, identified as a site security guard, has been arrested in connection with the incident. Among the casualties is a child, and there are concerns that the death toll may increase as more information becomes available.
Authorities have disclosed that 271 individuals, including at least 25 children, were transported to hospitals.
