Moscow: The Russian military said it shot down four American long-range missiles over Crimea, known as ATACMS, delivered to Ukraine recently. Russian aircraft and defense systems downed a total of 15 missiles in the past week.
Ukraine attempted to breach Russian air defenses in Crimea using ATACMS, six of which were intercepted.
The US discreetly sent long-range missiles to Ukraine, which were used for the first time on April 17 against a Russian airfield in Crimea. Initially, the Pentagon opposed the missile deployment, fearing it would weaken US military readiness and could escalate the conflict with Russia.
Additionally, Russian forces destroyed a NATO-supplied military train carrying Western-made equipment and arms bound for Ukraine.
