KERALA: Senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh, while addressing an election meeting in the Pathanamthitta parliament constituency to gather backing for BJP candidate Anil K Antony, commended Congress stalwart A K Antony, who is both a Congress leader and the father of Anil K Antony, portraying him as a disciplined and principled individual whose honesty and integrity are beyond reproach.
Expressing astonishment at A K Antony’s statement suggesting that Anil Antony should not emerge victorious in the Lok Sabha polls, Singh said, “I recognize that A K Antony is a person of strong principles, and I empathize with the challenges he faces. Supporting Anil Antony may pose difficulties for him. Nonetheless, I want to remind him that Anil is his son. Even if he chooses not to vote for or campaign for Anil, as his father, I kindly ask that he extends his blessings to him.” The Lok Sabha elections in Kerala are scheduled for April 26, with results announced on June 4.
Singh also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, alleging that following his defeat from the Amethi Lok Sabha seat in 2019, he lacked the courage to contest from there again. Singh claimed Gandhi had relocated to Kerala from
