A report stated that Paytm E-commerce has officially changed its name to Pai Platforms after getting approval from the Registrar of Companies (ROC). The company had requested the name change about three months ago and the Registrar of Companies approved the name change on February 8.
According to a notification from the ROC dated February 8, the company’s name has been altered from Paytm E-Commerce Private Limited to Pai Platforms Private Limited. Initially, the company was established under the name Paytm E-Commerce Private Limited, the notification added.
The report mentioned that Paytm E-commerce bought Bitsila, which is a seller platform on ONDC.
A seller platform on ONDC refers to a platform that enables businesses or individuals to sell their products or services through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). ONDC is an initiative by the Government of India to create an open digital ecosystem for commerce, allowing sellers to reach a wider audience and conduct transactions online. Therefore, a seller platform on ONDC facilitates online sales and transactions within this digital commerce network.
Bitsila, started in 2020, is a platform for sellers that operates within the ONDC framework. It provides comprehensive support for omnichannel selling, meaning sellers can reach customers through various channels like websites, mobile apps, and physical stores. Additionally, it enables hyperlocal commerce, allowing sellers to target customers in specific local areas.
