New Delhi: The ‘INDIA’ opposition bloc is set to organize a grand rally at Delhi’s historic Ramlila Maidan on March 31, announced Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Gopal Rai on Sunday.
This announcement comes amidst escalating tensions between the opposition and the Narendra Modi government following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an excise policy case.
Expressing concern over Kejriwal’s arrest, Gopal Rai said, “The arrest of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has sparked outrage among people across the nation who uphold and cherish our constitution. This is not just about one individual but a systematic attempt to silence the entire opposition.”
Echoing Rai’s sentiments, Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj highlighted the historical significance of Ramlila Maidan as a venue for major political movements, including the emergence of AAP. He emphasized that senior leaders from various national parties within the INDIA alliance will participate in the rally to address the nation.
