Mumbai: The Ahmedabad-headquartered Nirma Group is looking to diversify into hospitality, sources said. The ₹12,207-crore conglomerate, which has interests ranging from detergents and soaps to chemicals, cement and healthcare, has sought environmental approval to set up a five-star property aimed at the upper-upscale segment. The group was established in 1969 by Karsanbhai Patel, who began the venture as a solo enterprise while working as a laboratory technician.
