Delhi: Congress and Rahul Gandhi came under heavy fire from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. In his statement, Modi said that the opposition party and their ecosystem were attempting to portray their third straight electoral defeat as a “moral victory” while in reality acting as a “parasite,” and that the newly appointed opposition leader was acting with immature zeal (“baalak buddhi”).
Congressmen interrupted Modi while he was saying, “No matter how much you protest and make noise, the mandate is unequivocal; you are required to remain in the opposition.” Meanwhile, Speaker Om Birla chastised Rahul Gandhi for telling MPs to move to the area in front of the PM.
Modi also said, “The Congress should have grasped the message instead of engaging in deceptive victory celebrations that cannot obscure the reality that this is the third consecutive time the party has failed to achieve a three-digit score, and that the June 4 verdict marked Congress’s third-worst performance ever.”
