MM Mani made misogynistic and abusive comments directed at officials from the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) during a march to the Udumbanchola taluk office on September 29, 2023. The march was organized, alleging that MVD officials were imposing excessive fines on people in Nedumkandam.
During his speech, Mani made derogatory remarks, questioning whether the government had instructed officials to use their mothers and sisters in an inappropriate manner to generate income. He warned that injecting politics into their official duties would result in political consequences, and the officials would be unable to continue residing in the area. Mani asserted that officials, be they police, RTO, or collectors, would face consequences if they failed to adhere to the law.
This incident is not the first instance of Mani making abusive remarks, and it is imperative that he refrains from such behavior in the future. While Mani has the right to criticize individuals, it is crucial that he exercises caution in his choice of words to express his criticisms. Constructive criticism is acceptable, but using offensive language is not conducive to a healthy public discourse.
