Militant Clash in Jammu and Kashmir Claims Lives of Two Army Captains and JCO

In an ongoing operation since Today morning in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, two Army captains and a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) lost their lives, while an Army Major from 9 PARA sustained injuries.

The deceased were identified as Captain MV Pranjal of 63 Rashtriya Rifles, Captain Shubham, and Havildar Majid of 9 PARA. Despite attempts by soldiers from 9 PARA to evacuate Captain Pranjal, they encountered heavy gunfire.

The injured Major has been safely evacuated to the Command Hospital at Udhampur and is reported to be in stable condition. The encounter, initiated after militants fired on security forces based on specific intelligence, continued throughout the day in the Bazi Mal Upper forests in Kalakote.

At least one militant is believed to have been killed, but the recovery of the body is pending.
