South Korea’s leading auto parts manufacturer, Hyundai Mobis Co., has announced the development of an advanced premium display for vehicles, marking an industry-first breakthrough. This development comes in response to growing demand from automakers for high-end products in in-vehicle entertainment and infotainment systems.
Hyundai Mobis, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group, introduced the QL display, an abbreviation for quantum dot and local dimming display. This cutting-edge display is distinguished by its elegant screen size, high definition, and slim design, representing a fusion of modern technologies specifically designed for luxury vehicles.
The newly developed automotive display integrates quantum dot technology, commonly employed in OLED screens for enhanced color reproduction, and local dimming technology, which optimizes image clarity by improving the contrast between bright and dark colors.
