On Wednesday, the leaders representing the protesting farmers resolved to engage in discussions with the government on Thursday, opting to refrain from any further escalation until the conclusion of the dialogue. They urged participants of the Dilli Chalo demonstration not to aggravate the situation further.

Today evening, representatives from the protesting farmer unions are scheduled to hold a video conferencing session with Union Ministers Nityanand Rai, Arjun Munda, and Piyush Goyal.

At the forefront of the discussion agenda is the request for a legal assurance concerning the minimum support price mechanism for purchasing agricultural produce.

After the previous unsuccessful meetings between the two parties, farmers initiated their protest march on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the nation bore witness to a confrontation between demonstrators and the Haryana Police at the Punjab and Haryana borders. The police utilized drones to deploy gas canisters, igniting a contentious interstate issue.

Meanwhile, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha has announced a nationwide strike on Friday, along with a road blockade scheduled from 12 pm to 4 pm on the same day.
