New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday conducted thorough searches at around 10 locations, including the residence of the personal secretary of Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, as part of its ongoing investigation into alleged money laundering associated with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

This development followed the ED’s decision to intensify its actions by pursuing legal measures against the AAP’s national convenor for repeatedly avoiding its summons, particularly regarding a case linked to the excise policy.

On February 3, the Enforcement Directorate took a significant step by approaching the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi and officially filing a complaint against Kejriwal for consistently disregarding the summons issued by the ED in relation to the Delhi liquor policy money laundering case. Kejriwal’s failure to respond to five ED summons has been met with criticism, with his party condemning the latest instance as “unlawful.” He has consistently denounced the earlier summonses issued on December 22, November 2, January 3, and January 18 as “illegal and politically motivated.”

Meanwhile, Delhi Public Works Department Minister Atishi asserted that Aam Admi Party leaders had faced “threats” in response to the raids conducted by the Enforcement Directorate at their residences. She claimed that despite the extensive scrutiny, the probe agency had not succeeded in recovering any funds from the individuals targeted
