New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been remanded in Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody until March 28 in connection with the liquor case. Despite the ED’s request for 10 days of custody, the Rouse Avenue court has granted six days. The decision came after three and a half hours of arguments presented before the court.

The ED alleged in court that Kejriwal masterminded the liquor policy scam and was directly involved in policy formulation, accruing crores of rupees through corruption. Furthermore, the ED claimed that these funds were utilized during the Goa elections.

In response, Kejriwal’s legal team argued that the ED’s accusations were based solely on the testimony of an alleged accomplice, whose reliability is questionable. They also questioned the lack of specifics from the ED regarding the necessity of Kejriwal’s arrest and argued that the ED’s claims were tangential to the case.
