On Monday, February 12th, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, along with his recently forged alliance with the NDA, is slated to seek a vote of confidence at the state assembly. Having departed from the opposition’s INDIA group and realigned with the NDA-BJP alliance, Kumar was sworn in as Bihar’s chief minister for an unprecedented ninth term just last month.
All MLAs belonging to Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United (JDU) party have been issued a three-line whip, directing their mandatory attendance for the impending floor test regarding the government’s vote of confidence in Bihar.
Nitish Kumar, recently in the spotlight for his political turnaround, has rekindled ties with his party’s former ally, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Asserting his commitment, Kumar said that despite his past shifts, he has now firmly reestablished his allegiance with the NDA and intends to remain a steadfast member.
Furthermore, Jitan Ram Manjhi, the founder of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and a former chief minister of Bihar, has issued a directive to his four MLAs, instructing them to lend their support to the NDA government during the trust vote scheduled for February 12th in the Bihar assembly.
