On September 22, 2023, Danish Ali, a Member of Parliament representing the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), formally addressed Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla by submitting a letter. In this communication, Ali requested a thorough investigation into the speech delivered by Ramesh Bidhuri, a Member of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), during a session in the Lok Sabha.
Expressing his deep distress over the incident, Ali detailed how Bidhuri used “highly offensive and abusive language” against him during the proceedings that transpired in the Lok Sabha on September 21, 2023.
Drawing attention to the communal slurs directed at him by the BJP MP within the parliamentary setting, Ali urged Lok Sabha Speaker Birla “to refer this matter to the committee of privileges under rule 227 of the rules of procedure and conduct of business in Lok Sabha for examination, investigation, and report…”
During a Sabha session on Thursday, Ramesh Bidhuri of the BJP hurled communal slurs at Danish Ali.. Numerous leaders from the opposition expressed their condemnation of Bidhuri’s derogatory remarks through various social media platforms.
A video widely circulated across various online channels captures Bidhuri labeling Danish Ali as a terrorist. These inflammatory comments were made during a discussion in the lower house regarding the success of India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission.
