The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Kerala Legislative Assembly elections.

The list includes 47 candidates, among them former Union ministers Rajeev Chandrasekhar and V. Muraleedharan. Chandrasekhar will contest from Nemom, while Muraleedharan will contest from Kazhakkoottam.

Sobha Surendran will contest from Palakkad, while Navya Haridas will contest from Kozhikode North.

Other candidates in the list include K. Surendran from Manjeshwar, Padmaja Venugopal from Thrissur, and P. C. George from Poonjar.

The list also includes Shone George for Pala and Major Ravi for Ottappalam.

The BJP is aiming to win 20 to 25 seats in the Assembly elections to emerge as a major political force in the State.

However, winning 20 seats from its current position of having no representation in the Assembly may prove difficult for the party.
