Hangzhou: Avani Lekhara, the Indian para-shooter, clinched a gold medal in the women’s R2 10-metre Air Rifle Standing SH1 category at the ongoing Para Asian Games in Hangzhou on Monday. Avani displayed exceptional precision, securing 249.6 points and establishing a new Para Asian Games record.
China’s Zhong Yixin (247.5) and Zhang Cuiping (225.8) secured the silver and bronze medals respectively, in a fiercely contested event.
The fourth edition of the Para Asian Games is scheduled from October 22 to October 28.
