To enhance healthcare accessibility, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has incorporated an additional 63 drugs into the roster of medications offered free of charge to low-income patients at the esteemed medical institution.
Dr. M. Srinivas, the Director of AIIMS, emphasized that this move will greatly benefit numerous underprivileged individuals.
Srinivas further specified, “We have introduced sixty-three new medicines to the existing list.”
The updated list now encompasses essential medications like Trimazet, Palbociclib, Dasatinib, Methotrexate, Magesterol Acetate, and Leucovorin. Moreover, regular insulin injections, NPH Insulin injections, and Insulin Premix 30/70 injections will also be accessible without charge.
Dr. Rima Dada, the Professor overseeing the Media Cell, expressed, “The pharmacy stands as a beacon of hope for economically disadvantaged patients in need of essential medications.”
“This initiative perfectly aligns with the government’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality healthcare for all,” Dr. Dada added.
